new altered art steampunk owl jewelry on Etsy and Folksy!

I love using orphaned bits of jewellery to make quirky creatures, and owls are a favourite creation of mine. I made these two using all kinds of pieces of filigree, a vintage trumpet brooch, the insides of a watch - anything that has interest, shape or texture.
They are both available on Etsy at http://www.etsy.com'shop/splendidemporium and http://www.folksy.com/shops/splendidemporium and can be worn as either brooches, pendants or simply hung on the wall as unusual ornaments.

Warrington Craft and VIntage Fair Sat 18th September 2010

I had a Splendid Emporium stall at this event and it went really well. Warrington is a lovely town in the north west of England, in between Manchester and Liverpool. The fair was held in an unused area of the regular marketplace, which meant that we had overhead canopies (extra display space!) and lots of help from porters with loading and unloading. A godsend when you have a lot of stuff. As usual it took me about 90 minutes to get my stall up and running, and the same at the end. That's the trouble with jewellery, you have to carefully bag it all up otherwise it becomes a tangled mess. Nightmare....Anyway I will definitely be doing the next one and many thanks to the brilliant Julie for organising it.
